Museum at Prairie Fire Session | The Cross Family

I recently met up with the Cross family for our EIGHTH session, in half as many years.

If you’ve followed along with MSP, this is a familiar set of faces around here. I met Austin and Kayla on their wedding day in 2018 and we hit it off immediately. Over the years, they’ve become dear friends and some of my most loyal clients.

We met at The Museum at Prairie Fire for their family photos this year, which was a location I scoped out a few years ago and hadn’t had a chance to shoot at yet.

It has become a popular spot for photography, and for obvious reasons - the colorful stained glass makes for a funky and unique backdrop that you won’t find anywhere else in the city.

While we were there, we ran into one other photographer shooting a senior session, and then about 50-60 teenagers and their parents taking some prom snapshots, so it was a bit crowded. However, you’d never know by the photos we got - as far as anyone can tell, we had the place to ourselves! I would definitely shoot here again, as long as my clients are comfortable with the crowds, or, I might try for a morning session just after sunrise to avoid so many people.

I hope you enjoy this sneak peek! Scroll below for links to some of the Cross family’s past sessions :)
