Kansas City Senior Session | Hosea

Alright ya’ll. This one is extra special to me. Luckily, you can read this and view the photos totally unaware of the ugly cry that is about to take place while this blog post is written. First things first, let me introduce you to Hosea - William Chrisman High School 2022 Grad.

They say that a person comes into your life for either a reason, a season, or a lifetime. Hosea came into my life for all three.

I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Hosea’s family for many years, but it was when Hosea entered middle school that I began to know him better. He had just moved to the area and jumped right in to our youth group with the kind of personality that befriends everyone. One of the people that he befriended was my oldest son. Back then, all I can say is that it was a time in his life when he could really use a true friend. Over the course of the next few years, Hosea became one of a small handful of friends who stood beside him and held him up when he went through some very difficult times.

Fast forward a little, and I got married and added three new boys to the mix. Hosea made it a point to make them feel welcome in the youth group and at church events as well. Then my oldest went off to college, and he began texting my youngest and making a point to game with him, because he knew he was missing his older brother.

As you can tell, Hosea is truly one of a kind. When I see him, he always makes it a point to give me a hug and tell me he loves me. He has been such a blessing an encouragement to my family. I’m not sure he’ll ever truly know the impact that he has had.

Hosea, congratulations on your graduation, and thank you for spending the evening with me capturing these photos. I had a blast with you (even in the rain) and I can’t wait to see what your future holds!

This is my prayer: that your love might become even more and more rich with knowledge and all kinds of insight. I pray this so that you will be able to decide what really matters and so you will be sincere and blameless on the day of Christ. I pray that you will then be filled with the fruit of righteousness, which comes from Jesus Christ, in order to give glory and praise to God.
~Phil 1:9-11
